This LARGE 3 Gallon Size Jug ( Embossed "3" ) Has a Salt Glazed Exterior and it is Rendered in the Classic "Beehive" Form. The front is Hand Stencil Decorated in the "Script" Style - Reads & Advertises "W.H. McGARVEY & Co. - WHOLESALE DEALERS IN WINES & LIQUORS - UTICA N.Y. " Back in The Day These Type of Jugs Were on Loan to Customers from Retail Merchants such as Liquor Stores, Grocery Stores, Etc. so That They Could used and Refilled. It is in Excellent Overall Original Condition - Displays Beautifully. It has Only Minimal Age and Use Related Imperfections that Include a Few Small Chips on the Top Spout and Handle Areas. It has No Cracks - No Repairs. It has a Very Old and Minor Surface Glaze Only Hairline at the Front Left Area - This Most Likely a Kiln Imperfection that Occurred in the Making.
