Dating to the late 19th / early 20th century, possibly Anglo-Indian, featuring a bold and distinctive naturalistic sculptural form, with an organic rootwood trunk standard, wrapped with a writhing brass snake figure, with inset glass eyes, mouth open and teeth exposed, surmounted by a single candle holder.

Rare, unusual, and highly decorative, these fearsome whimsy candlesticks are sure to add a touch of whimsical elegance, rustic warmth, antique character and charm to any space!

Very good antique condition with nicely aged patina. Retaining original antique character and charm, including wear consistent with age and indicative of use. As photographed. Not a mirrored pair, similarly styled, since they are hand-crafted from found wood they may have minor variations. Overall outstanding examples
