Designed … Read more A masterpiece of mid-century American porcelain, this Goldscheider Borzoi is a rare and sophisticated find for the serious collector. Designed by the acclaimed sculptor Robert Ullman, this standing model (#2934) captures the aristocratic grace of the Russian Wolfhound with a touch of spirited personality.

Manufactured in the Goldscheider factory in Trenton, NJ (c. 1938–1950), the piece features signature hand-painted charcoal-grey patches against a luminous white high-gloss coat. The "all smiles" expression—complete with an open mouth showing teeth and a long red tongue—paired with intricate tri-color eyes, makes this one of the most engaging Borzoi models ever produced.

She is also one of the "harder-to-find" vintage porcelain Borzoi figurines, and she measures a full 9 1/2" tall x 11" long x 2 1/2" wide.

She is in excellent, ready-to-display condition. Her glaze is flawless with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This is a remarkable survival for a standing model of this scale. Authentic Goldscheider USA "Fine China" stamp is present on the underside.
