A wonderful antique Burmese tapestry featuring Loka-Nat riding an elephant. The padded figures are cut from cloth and sewn onto a black cotton background. The tapestry was then embroidered and sewn using a combination of gold, silver and pink metallic as well as plain threads and adorned with sequins, beads and glass moonstones. Ready to hang in a gold gilt wood frame backed by a wood board. Date early 20th C.
