It is … Read more This is a really fantastic design, art deco side chair, from the Wisconsin chair manufacturing. Label under seat. It is from the 1930s, and has a very high style. It is black lacquered with a gold velvet seat. There are small slats in the middle of the back that our painted and off-white on the insides as pictured. The contrast is wonderful. It looks to be original. There are some spots to the white on the inside of the slats. I tried to picture. Overall, the chair is in very good condition with a few nicks and chips to lacquer is all. Would blend in any machine age interior! I could not pin down a designer, but it has the look of one of the greats like Deskey Hoffman or Rohde style. See less
