Antique Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak Tall Single Chair w Carved Conquistador D F Barry
A signed antique solid quarter sawn tiger oak tall single chair with a hand carved conquistador in the back. Dates back to the 1920s era. It is in the Mudejar style, in which Moorish and medieval Spanish designs are combined. Underneath the chair are two paper labels stating D. F. Barry Photographer, Photographs Of All Noted Indian Chiefs, 1312 Tower Ave. Superior, Wisconsin. There are two signatures in cursive also on the underside of this chair. One in red and one in blue. Fantastic in depth carved details and we are surmising it is a Spanish Conquistador. Unfortunately all provenance has been lost on this antique exquisite tall chair. Hence, selling as is. Original dark finish with rich patina. Very nice condition and ready to be displayed in your home or office.
40.50 inches tall at the back. Seat height is 17.50 inches tall. Seat is 18.50 inches wide at the front by 14.50 inches deep chair. Back is 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide. 19 inches wall out.
