Chinese porcelain double fenghuangs bowl, a finely formed, shallow bowl with a gilt lip, a white glazed exterior and inset … Read more Chinese porcelain double fenghuangs bowl, a finely formed, shallow bowl with a gilt lip, a white glazed exterior and inset base and a polychrome glazed interior over a yellow glazed ground covered with very fine, small pattern rusty wire craquelure. The inner rim is decorated with a band of overlapping pink and turquoise, Ru Li lappets. The interior of the bowl is decorated with two, finely drawn fenghuangs flanking a Buddhist rose with a Taoist stone chime and Fu Bat, centered at the top, all amid an ornate, intertwining, network of leafy, flowering vines, artemisia leaves and auspicious fruits and flowers. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with five, finely drawn, red Fu Bats, forming the rebus of Wu Fu Min Len: wishes for the five blessings of health, wealth, long life, love of virtue and a peaceful death.
A blue, four character, Yongzheng Yuzhi reign mark within double circles is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, plate stand is included. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
