An incredibly lovely 1920s Art Nouveau Signed polychrome sandstone pottery vase by famed artist Louis Auguste Dage, made in Paris, France. Signature teal interior glaze, with gray mottled matte glaze on exterior and beautiful hand painted art nouveau roses and motifs.
Louis Auguste Dage (1885-1963)
Louis Dage began his career in the fives-Lille earthenware factory. After a short stay in Saint-Aubin-en-Bray, he continued his training in Beauvais where Greber and Auguste Delaherche factories were located. In 1920, he set up the Faëncerie d'Art in Anthony (Paris) with Jean de la Fontinelle.
In 1924, Louis Dage won the famous “Meilleur ouvrier de France” award.
He had an extensive career creating numerous beautiful works of art.
Measures 5" diameter, 8.5" tall, neck is 2" wide at opening.
