Such a stunner from our private collection. This is a rare find, the extendable writers desk by Barney Flagg for Drexel Furniture Company.
Part of the Parallel Series, this has a minimal design with a stunning silhouette. The thin legs offer the appearance of a floating drawer bank. Extends to six feet when drop-leaf is lifted; plenty of work surface on this babe!
Tall, thin legs give it the sleek appeal. There is plenty of storage with one lateral file drawer, three small drawers and a pencil drawer. There is a concealed finger pull at the pencil drawer. The legs are in a unique pinched-oval-shape. Original hardware and there is a drop-leaf on one side. Drop leaf can be kept raised or lowered depending on the needs of your space.
Mix of solids and veneers, table finished in a weathered mid-tone walnut. The restored tabletop showcases a beautiful, smooth wood grain. Makers mark in drawer. See all condition notes and photos for reference.

Tabletop restored and the main desk has original patina and standard wear. This piece shows signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear marks or light scratches on surface may be visible. The work surface and drop-leaf have been sanded down and given a light lacquer finish to bring this piece back to life. The top wood grain is stunning! See close ups for best quality on wood grain. All other surfaces left in with original condition in found condition. Note few small veneer pulls at small drawer fronts; see drawer front close up. Two of the drawer pulls have missing face plates; all in working condition. These bits of wear give this piece great character. No major chips or nicks. The drop leaf is in full working condition and can be kept lifted for the duration of use if necessary. See all photos and close ups for reference.
