We inquired with the Henry Moore Foundation in regards to this piece. The following is the message we received.

“There is a charge of £100 + VAT per object for Research Enquiries. This fee is for checking the images, dimensions and provenance submitted against the Foundation's archives, confidential databases and unpublished photographic records. Once our research is complete, we will issue an email response to confirm whether or not the object ties in with our records. Please note that these checks will not result in the authentication of the work as The Henry Moore Foundation cannot authenticate from images alone"

We decided not to ship the piece to the Henry Moore Foundation in UK as this is basically what they said for a solid authentication. Reason being, I have a few clients that did ship there pieces to the Henry Moore foundation from the US for authenticity- and did not get them back due to some loop hole in trade rules.

Therefore,the sculpture is sold without certification, provenance, or confirmed attribution. Sold attributed in the manner, or after, or style of the artist, of Moore. abiding the rules in trade. Previous ownership information upon request. We describe our items honestly and photograph them to the best of our ability. Please see pictures posted of the signature on the piece and the signature in the Henry Moore archives.
