You are considering a rare, The 100th Congressional Club First Lady's Luncheon 1912-2012 anniversary fine porcelain bowl honoring Michelle Obama. Beautiful condition free of any imperfections such as cracks, chips or fractures.
This fine porcelain bowl was made by the reputable Woodmere China Co in New Castle, PA. Woodmere was a porcelain manufacturer focused primarily on American history designs, heritage, reproductions of prestigious past presidential and commemorative dinnerware. Many of their pieces were created in limited runs for exclusive clients, with others available to the public for purchase. Their pieces over the years have been considered "museum quality". It closed operations in 2012 due to economic downturn.
This measures just under 9" across by 4" tall and weighs 2.11 lbs.
This was commissioned by The First Lady's Luncheon Foundation for it's 100th anniversary, and in honor of first lady Michelle Obama- a landmark occasion for the country's first African American to be first lady. The number of these made is unknown, nor it's designation or function at the event.
