This is a fun creation of a grey, tan and black agate pebble. The highlight of the bottle is the little boy Liu Hai. He is seated and holding a large strange of copper cash or coins. A toad is at the receiving end. It is the story of Liu Hai, a Daoist Immortal and he has a pet toad that is missing a leg. On occasion, the toad would escape and the only way is for Liu Hai to shake the strand of coins. On hearing the sound of cash, the toad would return to his master. This has become a rebus for money rolling in, a very popular wish for anyone who wants to get ahead.

The snuff bottle carver did his design on the flat side of the pebble. On the base he carved a lotus leaf as the foot. The bottle is not very well hollowed but can still hold snuff. The stopper is made of carnelian. Please note: the bottle did not come with a spoon. See less
