Royal celebratory gold-plated magnificent clock/mantel clock, napoleon iii around 1870, paris, a fantastic masterwork of perfection with beautiful fire-gilded bronze. Bronze, gold plated. On volute and paw feet a curved case with a woman's mask, winged female herms and a crowning globe in front of crossed oak leaf branches. Under a round arch is the glazed, gold-plated dial with roman numerals on enamel cartouches. Cones attached to the side. Rich appliqué and relief decoration. Spring suspension. Hook walk. The bell strikes the half hour. Medal stamp.
