Originally a mechanical movement by the famed maker Japy Freres, this was missing and it was fitted with a small, simple battery operated quart movement clock, retaining the original hands and winding shaft. There is a light sheen to the face. It appears to have been cleaned and clear-coated to lock in the patina. -Some dents, surface rust, wear and scratches. -The dial is marked with paint loss and the gold background of the outside lettering has mellowed.
