Fireplace garnish in golden metal and Onyx, signed Henryk II Kossowski (1855-1921) and titled "La Nuit".
This Polish sculptor in France is known to have been the student of Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912).
This garnish is made up of a pair of golden metal candelabra with five arms of rips and a central supporting finely chiseled bobbles and calories.
The Pansus barrels have children's sculptures and floral patterns.
Each of the base in green onyx, embellished with medallion, rests on four feet in gilded bronze with acanthus leaves.
This set would not be complete without its important pendulum, also in green onyx resting on the same type of feet, provided with an enameled white circular dial, surrounded by a plant composition in gilded bronze.
This clock is surmounted by a work by Kossowski entitled "La Nuit".
It represents a woman with a drape, slightly naked, dancing under the immensity of the starry sky.
This chimney garnish will appeal for the contrasting tones of its golden metal and its onyx.
