The Modernist poster print is published by The Mark Rothko Foundation. Printed in The United States in 1981 in an unnumbered limited edition by the renowned Poster Originals, limited #288. It features an iconic " Untitled " Abstract Expressionist artwork image originally created by Rothko in 1953, copyright The Mark Rothko Foundation Inc., 1981.

This is a rare opportunity for true Rothko and Modernism fans and collectors both as this coveted image lithograph print poster is long out of print and very scarce to find.

Mark Rothko ( 1903 - 1970 ) is an American Modernist painter of Russian Jewish descent. Although Rothko himself refused to adhere to any art movement, he is generally defined as an Abstract Expressionist. His bold use of color fields make the artworks impressively iconic and highly individual. Rothko is considered to be one of the most important and influential painters of The Twentieth Century. Artworks by Rothko are included in the many of the world's most prestigious museums.

In 1962 Evelyn and Leo Farland founded their infamous New York poster gallery and publishing business " Poster Originals Ltd. ". They created groundbreaking innovation and lasting effects with their pioneering approach to the poster industry from the early 1960's through the late 1980's. They worked with the leading American and European artists, international museums and top galleries collaborating to create some of the most iconic and important art posters of the Mid Century Modern, Pop Art, Abstract Expressionist, and Contemporary Art movements. This Rothko poster print is a beautiful example of Poster Originals finest work.

The rare rare out of print framed Abstract Expressionist extra large format poster print measures 30 3/8" W X 40 1/4" H X 1 3/8" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte eggshell finish black metal slim profile box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
