Offered is a vintage circa 1960s large oval serving platter from Arabia of Finland, designed and signed by Ulla Procope in the pattern called "Rosmarin" in brown (similar to the "Anemone" done in dark blue).
Each of the stoneware ceramic plates were hand painted by artisans, and the wet glaze was burnished, which is why no plates are exactly alike.
Ulla Procopé (1921 - 1968) was one of Finland's leading ceramic designers of the 20th century who left an indelible impact on Scandinavian design. She joined Arabia, the Finnish producer of fine ceramic tableware in 1948 and designed several innovative and popular lines of ceramic products.
It measures 13 1/8" Long, 9 1/2'' Wide, 1 1/2" High.
