A rare 19th century antique brass meat screen heat reflector.
This invention of the time was used in an open fire for cooking, where the meat screen would be placed in the fire, holding the meat. Heat would be reflected in the brass screen and so aid the cooking process.
The only other one we were able o find was in the Future Museum in South West Scotland.
The body is made of iron. And it has a patten number stamped into the brass.
