The brass stand is designed to swivel on its iron base. On the sides are pierced symbols of a lyre and stylized stars and florals. At the center of the floral design is the anagram with a "J" and an "S". It is unclear precisely what the letters mean, adding to the mysterious charm of this incredible historical artifact!
