From an estate sale of a collector of Latin American art and decor, offered are a Jacaranda wood pipe rack and hand-carved tobacco canister or humidor made in Brazil, circa. mid 1960s to early 1970s.
The rack holds up to 6 pipes and measures 13.75" x 2.5" x 2", and the canister measures 4" in diameter, 4.875" in height (and 5.875" with the lid, to the top of the handle).

The jar has evidently been used for several decades and smells like tobacco when the lid is opened. Because it is handcrafted, the lid is intentionally tight to keep the tobacco fresh, yet also imperfect and the lid is challenging to fit in place. There are no discernible chips or cracks (see photos), and any wear, nicks, or minor scratches on the surface are commensurate with age and past usage. less
