Extremely rare and exquisitely crafted Maitland -Smith late 20th Century Sculpted Monkey Bookcase Etagere with 5 shelves. Glass shelves are extremely thick and heavy, coming in at about 3/8 inch thick glass. The dimensions are 43.5" wide x 16.5" deep x 84" tall to top of monkey finials and 73.25 to top shelf.
Extraordinary bronze monkeys highlight the bottom tiers. The monkeys surface is embossed bronze. The bookcase itself is wrapped with leather in a woven basket pattern and includes brass rails and finials. It is topped off with two monkey head finials on the top back shelf. This piece is just an extraordinary piece of fine high end furniture.

Only noticeable up close looking for it. There is also a spot of discoloration on the side of the left back post, shown in pictures. On the back of the piece itself is a little bit of paint on both posts, so not noticeable at all when against a wall. One tiny tear in leather on back horizontal beam, about 1/4" wide or less mostly hidden by the glass. This listing may be for a vintage/antique item or set, meaning there will be some wear signs of use and is common due to age.
