Wegner from the original getama production of the iconic ge-240 series. This set has only had one owner who bought the set in the mid 1950s. It has never been restored and retains the original spring cushions in the most amazing wool fabric. The solid oak on this set is stunning and has the deepest and most wonderful patina and grain we have ever seen on a vintage piece of danish modern furniture. The conditions is very good with almost no signs of use. Wegner designed the ge-240-series, also known as the ‘cigar’ in 1955. The name derives from the unique shape of the armrests which have a likeness to the form of a cigar. The ge-240 is a classic minimalist danish design featuring a tapered solid oak frame. Its tilted back and wide armrest make for a practical and comfortable seat. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
