A unique dining chair, commissioned by Le Corbusier and manufactured by Ligna for Thonet in Poland around 1950.
Made of high quality deep brown wood in an elegant design with round seat made of rush in a nice, lighter shade. These eye-catching chairs are nicknamed “Charlie Chaplin”, because they were used in his famous coffee house skits. This is a variant with armrests, which is a rare find. The curved shapes of the design give it a very elegant shape, which will be a fantastic compliment to any dining room!
The chair remains in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
