This chromo came … Read more RARE HORIZONTAL matted Art Nouveau botanical chromolithograph published by Christian Stoll in Plauen, Germany dating to 1910. This chromo came from a unbound portfolio of Asian motifs for Rugs, laces and fabrics. Plauen was a center of textile manufacturing with a world renown design school. Beautifully decorative image of a “stylized flowers”. This image is in rich color tones of blues, corals, whites, grays, and greens. It showcases Art Nouveau floral motifs (peonies?) with intricate, delicate detailing. It is fluid and "alive." This is a genuine find as horizontal images are quite rare and as this imagery is quite exotic. Also note artist’s signature initials on lower right corner. This chromo is in excellent antique condition with no indication of its age...no foxing no discolorations, no tears. 14.25 inches wide, 9.5 inches high.
