A Truly Outstanding Example of Authentic Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Cream Jar - Crock. Circa Mid 19th Century. 1 Gallon Storage Capacity Size. It is Rare to Find These Types of Small Stoneware Cream Jars with Side Handles -"Ears". It has a Classic American The Salt Glaze Exterior. The Interior is Done in a Dark Coffee Brown Color.. The Front has a Large and Beautiful Blue Hand Decorated Stylized Flower Design. It is Signed - Was Made by the Well Documented Maker IVAN R. JONES in PITTSTON PENNSYLVANIA. It is in Excellent Condition - No Cracks - No Chips - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully. It Does Have 3 Surface Glaze Imperfections at the Base Perimeter but These are Kiln Flaws and Would Have Occurred in The Making - Firing Process. These Types of Stoneware Items were Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time and Glaze Imperfections - Spots Such as These are Quite Common and Acceptable by Today's Stoneware Collectors.
It Measures Overall Approx. 8 1/4 inches Tall x 8 1/4 inches Wide - Long.
