Pretty and vexatious Italian bedroom chair; the shape is particularly pleasing, the front legs are "cabriole," while the very slender back legs are cylindrical tapered, and turned; all legs are black lacquered wood. The upholstery, in smooth purple velvet, was made at a later date, a fine trimmings decoration was placed from the armrests along the entire back, and even under the seat and around the top of the legs, a decorative detail that adds a touch of elegance and personality to the armchair. Our seat was produced in the "Hollywood" style between 1950 and 1955 in Brianza, a region located north of Milan, Italy, which was and still is famous for the production of high-quality furniture, including armchairs; numerous companies and artisans operated in the area and contributed to the production of luxury armchairs. The armchairs of the 1950s often featured curved and sinuous shapes, with rounded backs and rounded or slightly sloping armrests. These soft curves gave the armchairs a cozy and comfortable look. The armchairs of the 1950s were often designed to fit the bedroom spaces of the time, which tended to be smaller than today's rooms. As a result, 1950s armchairs were often compact in size and did not take up too much space. In addition, 1950s armchairs featured a unique retro style that made them instantly recognizable. They were often characterized by a combination of classic elegance and a touch of modernity, with the use of bold colors and wrap-around shapes. The Hollywood style in furniture is an aesthetic inspired by the golden era of Hollywood, from the 1920s to the 1950s. This style is characterized by luxurious, glamorous, and opulent elements, often with a touch of eccentricity. Hollywood-style furniture is characterized by curvaceous and elegant lines. Chairs, armchairs, sofas, and beds often feature rounded shapes or accentuated curves. The armchair is in good condition. Measures width cm.51, depth cm.50, height cm.100, seat cm.34. For all our shipments we use special packing materials (custom-made wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the items.
