A leaf form dessert tray from Samuel Alcock & Co, Burslem, Staffordshire, England, circa 1850.
A central Strawberry leaf on a shaped tray with a vine border, and showing both the berries and blossoms of the plant.
The bright coloring and glazing technique is distinctive to Alcock majolica pottery.
9.2 in. L x 8.5 in. W x 1.5 in. H
Marked with the Beehive, SA & Co., one tray is marked more clearly than the other.
Of the two available, one tray has short stable hairline running from the rim, the other has a tiny sliver seen to the rear rim. Really very, very good antique conditions for these hard to find pieces..
