This platter is a example of Trompe L’oeil at its finest. When I first saw it I kept trying to take the bowl off! Such a great piece for holiday serving, it features a Trompe L’oeil apple,pear and lemon on a bed of leaves. There is also a quail and a lettuce leaf bowl. Load the platter with goodies and fill the bowl with sauce or dip.
The platter itself is bordered with a handpainted design .
It is signed “Cali” on the bottom and is assumed to come from Cali Pottery in Memphis Tennessee.
