This refined Mid Century Modern decorative dish/ bowl was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- circa 1950. It offers a billowing sculptural body with a concave center and flowing scalloped sides, suggesting an evening gown fluttering in the wind. The exterior of the piece is composed of opaque white Murano glass while the interior is pearlescent with hints of ruby, moss and turquoise and murines throughout.
