Large 4 Gallon Size … Read more A Really is a Great Looking Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Crock. Circa Late 19th Century. Large 4 Gallon Size with "Ears" ( Side Handles ). The Front is Hand Decorated with a Large Beautiful Blue Color Stylized Flower Sprig Design. The Exterior is done in a Classic Salt Glaze with Unusual Rusty Color - Appearance. The Front is Embossed - Signed by the Well Documented Up State New York Stoneware Maker Maker N. A. WHITE UTICA . N. Y. It is Also Embossed with a "4" that Denotes it Four Gallon Storage Capacity. It has a Chocolate Bar Brown Color Interior Glaze. It is in Very Good - Strong - Sound - Usable Condition and Displays Beautifully. Imperfections Noted - The Top Perimeter Rim - Front has 2 Minor Chips These Being Quite Normal as a Result of its Utilitarian Use Over the Years. It also has ( Back Side ) a Very Faint Old Hairline Crack - Please See 12th - Last Photograph. All in All a Very Nice Example of Authentic Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware.
It Measures Overall Approx. 11 1/4 inches Tall x 12 inches ( Including "Ears" Handles ) x 12 inches Wide at Top Rim.
