It is Completely … Read more This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Authentic Early American Fireplace Ember Foot Warmer. Circa Early 19th Century. It is Completely Hand Made out of Mahogany Wood with Hand Cut Dovetail Corner Joints and Tongue & Groove Joints on the Top - Lid. When Used the Removable Interior Tin "Trough" ( Original ) Would have Been Filled with Glowing Hot Embers - Coal and Sometimes Heated Rocks. The Top Panel is Pierced Brass. It Still Retains its Wire Swing Carry and Lathe Turned Handle. I Purchased this Piece in the Central New Hampshire Region. It is in Good Overall Original Condition and Displays Very Nicely. It has Been Used Extensively over the years and has Acquired an Assortment of Honest Age, Use and Mostly Heat Related Cosmetic Imperfections - Missing a Piece of the Bottom - Burns, Etc. These Can be Seen in My Photographs.
It Measures ( Handle Not Included ) 4 inches Tall x 10 3/4 inches Long x 7 3/8 inches Wide.
