This gorgeous floor vase once graced a corner on a stairway landing in our former home. I purchased it from an interior design shop in Brookside, Missouri (which is no longer) in 1997. The shop specialized in importing unique, one-of-a kind items from all over the world. This beauty was handcrafted in Vietnam from bent bamboo wood. The circular base and neck collar are hand carved bamboo. The upper portion, beneath the fluted neck has a petal-like accent that was cut and bent to shape the “petals”. The bamboo’s multi-colored palette was achieved by using natural plant dyes in pale washed hues of ocher, dove grey, teal blue and mocha brown. It measures 17½” x 17” x 17” H/W/D; circumference 55”; weight 10 lbs. In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Note: Dried foliage is not included. For a one-of-a-kind piece, this gorgeous floor vase will not disappoint.
