A mainstay of Brooklyn Brownstones and the like, vintage pier and console mirrors were originally designed to sit between two windows. This area—likely buttressed—was known as a pier, hence the narrow-width pier mirror got its name. Today, used pier and console mirrors are also known as Trumeau mirrors. How to use them? Do like the Brooklinites did back in the day and use them as a way to reflect night into a narrow space.
