What made you passionate about interior design? How’d you get your start?
My mother is a talented interior designer, so I was exposed to decorating from a young age. I didn’t consider doing it myself until after college, when I discovered myself constantly looking at design books, magazines, and blogs. I went back to school to study interior architecture at Pratt Institute and began in the industry after graduating.

What do you find most compelling about Chairish?
I appreciate that Chairish provides a highly curated selection of antiques from vendors across the globe. The breadth and variety of items you can find has made it my first online stop when sourcing for projects. I also find it so helpful how you can save things you like to revisit later—kind of like building your own boutique to shop.

How does sustainability factor into your design choices and love of vintage?
Not only are antiques less wasteful than buying everything new, each piece carries its own story, adding meaning and character to rooms. These are also items that have stood the test of time, and will hopefully be pieces that one keeps for years, rather than being trendy items replaced more frequently.

Favorite way to create a statement-making moment in a room?
I really love the impact of a collection. A carefully arranged grouping of ceramics makes a much stronger statement than just a single plate or bowl. Artisan pieces tell a story of craftsmanship and history, adding character and warmth to the space.

Do you have any go-to color palettes and combos?
I strive to explore diverse color combinations in my design endeavors, yet I find myself consistently drawn to a palette of ivories, blues, greens, and natural fiber textures. Certain warm whites, such as Benjamin Moore’s Linen White and Chatsworth Cream, have become beloved staples that I return to time and again.

What advice do you have for first-time clients to make their space truly personal?
The first step is to engage in honest self-reflection about your lifestyle, allowing you to create a space that is both comfortable and harmonious with your daily life. Equally important is the investment in art and antiques that resonate with you—one-of-a-kind pieces with a distinctive patina that add depth and character. These selections infuse your rooms with uniqueness and also reflect your personal story, making your environment truly special.
