Thomson & Cooke Architects is a custom residential architecture firm based in Washington, DC. Founders Neal Thomson and Patrick Cooke share a passion for residential architecture and a history that goes back to their undergraduate days. After following separate paths for their Master’s of Architecture degrees, they found themselves working together at a small residential practice in Georgetown. A decade later, they opened their own firm, collaborating with their clients to create stylish, livable homes.
The office is known for its work in urban and suburban neighborhoods throughout the Washington, DC region as well as waterfront properties along the Chesapeake Bay. Whether building a new house or updating an existing one, the firm balances the simplicity of traditional American residential design with an updated aesthetic and a focus towards classic design principles and current building practices. The goal for each project is to create a comfortable, beautiful home that meets the client’s needs for today and the future.
