Studio Trent Kendrick is an independent creative practice based in Chicago, working in handbuilt ceramics, oil painting, and ceramic lighting. Every piece is made by hand from natural materials — thrown, built, glazed, and fired in the studio.
Trent comes from a long line of makers. His great grandfather built rocking chairs. His grandmother made quilts. His mother paints. He grew up Mennonite in Iowa where making things by hand was not a philosophy — it was simply how life worked. That rootedness has never left the work.
The ceramics are influenced by geological forms, ancient vessel traditions, and the organic quality of materials allowed to do what they want. The lighting is designed to live in serious interiors — alongside vintage objects, collected art, and considered furniture. Everything is made to last and made to belong.
