Morris has completed a wide range of projects throughout the New York metropolitan area, New England and California. She currently is working with clients to design homes in Connecticut, the Hamptons, Westchester County and New York City. A graduate of the interior design program at Parsons School of Design in New York, Morris founded her residential interiors practice in 1992. The designer, who also studied fine art, is passionate about travel, foreign cultures and the history of furniture and architecture, interests reflected in her eclectic interiors.
Shelley Morris can personally address a project of any scope and size, working as a design consultant on an hourly basis. She advises on elements of living such as color palettes, furniture arrangement, art selection and display, accessorizing or updating a room, finding the right antiques, selecting kitchen and bathroom fixtures or designing custom window treatments. Every interior design assignment, in fact, is billed on an hourly design fee basis, with no additional percentages charged for purchases such as furniture or expenses including construction or custom craftsmanship. This process is a rarity of value and integrity in the interior design field, which Morris takes pride in.
