    About

    Shop Banner

For over fifty years, I have lived the dream of being a working artist.

I earned a degree in fine arts from Mills College in Oakland, California, in 1973. During my graduation ceremony, I was honored and humbled to be awarded the Silver Medal from the Royal Society of Arts and Sciences of Great Britain.

Over the years, I have produced many pieces that have been shown and have won awards in San Francisco, Marin County, and the Monterey Bay Area. Since relocating to Santa Fe in 1992, I have shown in many one-person and professional group exhibits in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, including the Albuquerque Museum of Fine Arts. My work graces collections across the nation.

At this point in my artistic development, I recognize that I have mastered a vocabulary of application techniques that I continually strive to polish. I know that this lifelong familiarity with my interior world calls for a breakthrough beyond the known. For the past several years, I have used my time to dig into that part of my creative being to seek artistic discoveries. As in all complex endeavors, it comes down to the simplest things. I don’t edit out my feelings. I trust in the embarrassment of riches that resides within, then I “break” the canvas.
