Designed with a striking radiating silhouette, the decorative mirror features a small circular convex glass surrounded by alternating gold and silver leaf-shaped rays, creating a beautifully balanced composition inspired by traditional French sunburst designs.

The sculptural frame is composed of elongated, pointed rays resembling stylized leaves or feathers, each embellished with finely incised veins that enhance the texture and dimensional quality of the design. The alternating gilt and silver painted finishes create an attractive contrast, while subtle patination gives the surface additional warmth and character.

The central convex mirror plate is enclosed within a deep, molded circular gilt surround, providing a pleasing contrast to the slender radiating elements. The combination of metallic finishes and delicate detailing lends the piece an airy appearance despite its elaborate construction.

Sunburst mirrors have long been associated with French decorative arts, particularly the radiant sun emblem of Louis XIV, the Sun King. Their sculptural silhouettes enjoyed renewed popularity throughout the 20th century and remain appealing accents in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The vintage wall mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its rich two-tone gold and silver painted finish. Its petite proportions make it especially suitable for a powder room, entryway, bedroom, or gallery wall, either displayed individually or incorporated into a larger decorative arrangement.
