I owned an antique shop in Blue Hill, Maine from 1985 to 2005. My husband and I would go to France several times a year to buy antiques, shipping them back to the U.S. in containers. Our shop specialized in all things stylish, and we sold to a range of design professionals and dealers, and were featured in a number of magazine articles. We later moved to selling used and rare books exclusively. We do not keep a shop any more, selling only online.
We found the collection of textile designs in the 90's, in France. A large number were sold to a major textile design library, and to clients at the antique shop, then we put the remainder away and moved on. Recently I have started offering them online, to a growing audience. Each piece is a unique work of art, never to be seen again.
