Antique hand-painted textile design, gouache on paper, c. 1930r. From the archive of a French company that produced jacquard woven fabrics. Original artwork, one of a kind.
Painted on linen rag paper that is printed with a tiny grid - the pattern is then read off the grid by "liseurs" (readers) who translated it into a jacquard weave. A unique piece of textile history.
Designs are shipped Priority Mail in a tube.
