Samuel Strain started Kope Woodcraft in 2019, a furniture design, custom woodwork, and production studio based in Manson, Washington specializing in handcrafted hardwood furniture. Samuel got his start in design at the Art Institute of Seattle but fell in love with woodworking during a wooden boat building apprenticeship in Bristol, Maine. Returning to the Northwest, Sam has continued to build wood boats and now channels his eye for impeccable craftsmanship and artistic vision into the furniture he creates at Kope. As an Samuel Strain strives to create pieces that will fit seamlessly into your space and transcend the changing style of your home. Sam believes strongly in both craft and connection, that details like solid joinery and book matched tabletops come together to create not just a beautiful piece of heirloom furniture, but something that influences the energy of your home and connects you with the maker. He hopes that his pieces help you to craft a space in which you feel most at home.
