In 2017, Carl D’Aquino and Francine Monaco’s visionary architectural and interior design firm, D’Aquino Monaco, celebrated its 20th Anniversary—and the start of a new decade for their award-winning design practice. Long recognized as an industry trailblazer through their seamless fusion of architectural and interior decorating disciplines, D’Aquino Monaco has designed luxurious private homes and apartments, along with commercial developments and hospitality projects. The D’Aquino Monaco aesthetic is instantly recognizable: inspired compositions of color, varied and rich textures and the subtle re-tuning of spatial geometry are the physical manifestation of the company’s client-centric approach to contemporary living. The firm is frequently seduced by projects that present fresh challenges to typical design thinking. Through the examination (and celebration) of every new client’s unique way of life, D’Aquino Monaco challenges each of them to engage more intimately in their own lives—and, through the experience of transformative design, to engage fearlessly with the world at large. Carl and Francine, the principals of their namesake firm, are presently engaged in several residential projects in New York City, a hotel in Pennsylvania and their very first collection of bespoke hardware. Their work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Interior Design and the Wall Street Journal, and the firm has consistently achieved top designer accolades including New York Spaces' Top 50 Designers and Interior Design's Hall of Fame.
