Victorian ornate hand painted … Read more Antique Glass and Quadruple Silver Plated Aurora Manufacturing Co Pickle Castor With Tongs, four pieces total. Victorian ornate hand painted pickle castor by Aurora Silver Plate Manufacturing Company (American, 1869-1919). Includes original lid, tongs and frame with enameled raised floral design on red to pink satin glass insert. Base has four aesthetic style feet. The underside of foot is marked "QUADRUPLE PLATE AURORA S.P.M.F.G.CO. WARRANTED".

This item was purchased by my grandmother at an antique fair in the 1960s in New England. When she passed away my Uncle rented a dumpster with the intention of throwing out 6,000 sq ft of her stuff. Fortunately for me and you, I have a big problem with throwing away perfectly good items. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to save everything! This item was still in a plastic bag so I figured it was good.

Upon further inspection, the item is in good condition. No chips or cracks in the glass portion. Some wear to the long arms of the frame. You can see this in the photos. Otherwise, it just has an aged and unpolished patina. See less
