The Inland Printer was a Chicago-based journal created to show the best examples of printwork at that period. Founded in the 1890s, its early association with Art Nouveau illustrator and artist Will H. Bradley helped to introduce the American printing trade to the lyrical lines and floral designs of the Art Nouveau style. Each issue included a painter cover illustration (the first, at the time), articles on advances in presses, type fonts, and inks, and numerous colour illustrations. The magazine proved to be an important influence in popularizing first Art Nouveau at the turn of the century, and later Art Deco in the 1920s and 1930s.
A striking ad first issued in 1922 showing St-Paul's in London across a forest of chimney pots and radio receiving aerials used to plug Western Electric radios. Western Electric Company was an American electrical engineering and manufacturing company that served as the primary supplier to AT&T from 1881 to 1996. Matted to 11.75 x 15.25 inches, this elegant mini poster is ready to be framed.
