Chinese lacquer peonies and poems four sided fengweizun, a four sided vase in a black lacquered exterior, interior and base, … Read more Chinese lacquer peonies and poems four sided fengweizun, a four sided vase in a black lacquered exterior, interior and base, with one face finely painted with garden peonies in colored lacquers, within a double gold line cartouche, surrounded leafy flowering vines, the other three faces are decorated with signed Chinese poems in gold caoshu script within a double gold line cartouches. The four sides of the neck are decorated with blue and red floral Shou character medallions amid leafy floral vines with the Buddhist Endless Knot symbol below at the flange. The foot of the vase is banded by stylized dragons with a smaller meander band below. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand, flat with a live edge, is included. A black, four character, Tui Si Tang Zhi, Daoguang mark is finely carved to the base. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
