Attractive hand made ceramic soup bowl made at Chalet Suzanne's Lake Wales ceramics studio and used in the restaurant to serve their highly acclaimed soup. Apparently this soups was so good, it was sent aboard the Apollo 16 mission to the moon. A blogger at Dinaruns.com called it a moon bowl!
The bowl has a quirky design reminiscent of mid century modern, coincidentally the design was inspired by an ash tray seen in Norway by the owner. It has grooved rims so it could be used as a catch all or just sculptural pieces. This bowl features an attractive pink and blue castle-like structure that appears to be a section of the old restaurant itself.
Marked CHALET SUZANNE 1993 LAKE WALES FLORIDA USA #2 on reverse. I am not sure what the inscription to the left signifies.
