Early 19th century Pollard oak Campaign writing slope or lap desk This is a very rare piece, it is a … Read more Early 19th century Pollard oak Campaign writing slope or lap desk This is a very rare piece, it is a Campaign writing slope is made in Pollard Oak and bound in brass, it is an exceptionally fine piece both in terms of the materials used, design and craftsmanship The interior of the box is a joy, the velvet lining on the slope is a little faded but the rest is full of surprises, the desk is fitted in ebony and has two glass ink bottles with silver-plated tops, a stamp tray and a pen tray. On one side there is a sliding compartment and there are also two secret drawers This is a very attractive stationary box, it is in very good condition, it is 20” wide 11” deep and 6” high when closed (23” long when open) See less
