Meissen stunning pair of figurines of very interesting appearance: peasant and peasant woman with jug / pitcher models 1234 & 907 measures: peasant woman height: 7.87 inches (= 20.0 cm) width: 5.31 inches (= 13.5 cm) depth: 3.54 inches (= 9.0 cm) peasant height: 7.48 inches (= 19.0 cm) width: 5.31 inches (= 13.5 cm) depth: 3.54 inches (= 9.0 cm) manufactory: meissen hallmarked: blue meissen sword mark with pommels on hilts (bottom not glazed) model number 907 / former's number 88 / painter's number 22 = peasant model number 1234 / former's number 55 / painter's number 4 = peasant woman first quality dating: 19th century / made circa 1850 material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted technique: handmade porcelain style: rococo modelled by: johann friedrich eberlein (1695 - 1749) he was sculptor at meissen manufactory as from the year 1735. Eberlein worked together with johann joachim kändler (1706 - 1775) who has been active on behalf of meissen manufactory since the year 1731: both sculptors created together with johann gottlieb ehder the most famous swan service, consisting of more than 2200 pieces (1737 - 1742). Most of eberlein's own models show antique gods on rocaille bases. Models 1234 & 907 were created in year 1747. Subject: salad oil / vinegar set made as sculptured figurines: a male and a female one a peasant as well as a peasant woman - both clad in rustic rococo garments - are situated on rocky base, next to them there is a lidded jug / pitcher with spout visible. The figurines are going to open the lid. Each of jugs is decorated with excellent flower paintings as well as with sculptured flowers' blossoms attached to leafy stems covering surface of white porcelain. Condition: there aren't any damages / any imperfections existing this piece has an attribution mark,
