Playful, visually pleasing to the eye motif of scattered buttercup flowers and vines melamine tray with side handles, circa 1980. Perfectly sized to serve drinks or to use as a lively decorative countertop accent piece filled with small potted herbs or succulents. Crafted from thick melamine; flowers and vines are marigold and green in color on a pale wheat background.
This cutie measures 17¾” x 10¾” x 1¾” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. 9 oz. In excellent condition; retains its luminous finish with age-appropriate wear (see photos 7, 8 & 11). One surface only hairline split on the underside of one of the handles which has been reinforced and is pretty much indiscernible (see photo 3) and is completely unseen on the surface, none of which impacts its beauty or utility. Maker and country of origin unknown but if I had to take a wild guess, it was possibly made in Japan or Taiwan. Fabulous in any setting and awaiting its new home!
